I have a 36 FS currently in production, and am looking forward to delivery in several weeks. As soon as Jayco produces a bunk model Embark, I will be trading into the Embark. In following the forum concerning the Embark, it seems like there are quite a few of us, and surely more who do not take the time to post. We should all put a bug in Jayco's ear, that there is a market for a bunk model Embark, as I did this morning with their sales rep in Indiana.

I think it cant hurt for everyone to let Jayco know there is a market for bunk model Embark, if enough people ask they might just make one.

The industry is always slow to figure out that families such as mine with 4 kids can actually afford a $120K motorhome. A few years back when I was looking at going from a TT to 5th wheel very few had bunk models, but slowly the industry came around and now look at how many 5th wheel models have bunks. When I started looking at motorhomes I thought I would be stuck with a class A with bunks and then we'd have to fight a hide a bed and have limited towing capabilities. So glad I waited to find the 36FS, we LOVE it.

I am in the market for an RV and don't know what to get because I do have kids (2 young boys makes 4 of us). I want a class C specifically for the over cab bunk but everyone says I should just get a class A. Which is more economical for fuel and why should I get either class? There has got to be more choices for kids. Maybe young people with kids are not welcome and I should just get a hotel? Please inform before I spend a lot of money and find out my kids are not welcome at the campsites.

I think it is funny that all the Go RVing commercials promote the family adventures when you own an RV and then the manufacturers end up making new units designed for the elderly couple that full time it part of the year. People with families need sleeping space as well as living space. We don’t want to listen to the argument about who gets to sleep in the cab over and who has to sleep on the floor or pull out bed. People with kids can afford a nice motor home, to make up the additional cost of the monthly payment we only feed our kids only on even days, you would be amazed at how much money this saves (yes I am kidding). I was really hoping that Jayco would have a bunk model, but before I finalize my decision I might just wait till October and see if they have anything decided about the Embark when the Pomona RV show is going on.

It has appeared to me since I first saw the pic's and from what dealers and Jayco have told others on this forum and others that the Embark is price and amenity fixed to fit in the Dynamax, Haulmark, Showhauler, etc. group of coaches. Those coaches are higher priced, heavy duty class 7, high pulling capacity units that rarely, if at all, offer the bunkhouse floor plans. In Texas, and maybe other states, their GVWR requires a class B drivers license.
I think many readers and posters hoped the Embark would be competition for the Gulf Stream products with the International chassis. Unless Jayco decides to drop down from the class 7 to the class 6 Freightliner chassis, it is going to fit in the true heavy duty truck chassis group. That, in my opinion, is a shame.
I love my SuperNova but would not mind a bit of completion from another manufacturer. At this time, it does not look like there are any other choices than Gulf Stream for the medium duty class 6 chassis.

I believe Showhauler will build a coach with bunks. You could probably choose from several chasis and lengths. If you are looking for a bunk model in a Class 6-8 Chasis, you might want to check em out. Might be surprised at the cost vs Jayco.

We went with the Seneca 36fs since we have 4 kids and I wanted each to have their own bed and still have room for friends to bring along. One of my greatest pleasures comes from bringing my kids friends camping when it is their first time see how much they LOVE camping, it makes the long drives and extra work all worth it.
I would also looked at Winnebego/Itasca class A's with the bunks.

Winnebago has the new 31' with bunks. It's nice, and as you say, they should have thought of it sooner. Most people don't want to take down the galley table to make a bed each night! At least I know I don't!
And anyone with 3-4 kids, is going to need the extra room.....and there are usually some "pals" coming along too.
Of course, it's also discouraging that Winnebago has shut down their shop for awhile, due to low demand...which of course, is due to the gas prices. I'm sure that all the manufacturers will be in about the same boat here soon.
Just my thoughts...

I have been exchanging emails with the Western Sales Manager at Jayco, I expressed my desire to see an Embark bunk model and stated there are others out there that also are interested in the same thing. I sent him a link to the this forum and he said that Jayco was aware of the interest in a bunk model and that they were just talking about this forum and the interest a Embark bunk model in a meeting a few days before I emailed him.
So they may still be hope that Jayco makes an Embark bunk model yet. Apparently it appears they also visit this forum regularly and see what people are saying as well, it’s good to see that they care enough about their products to see what their customer base is saying.
