The line coming out of the bottom looks a lot like a A/C condenser line. Does the vehicle have A/C? If it does it will look like there are two radiators one in front of the other. The front one will be a little smaller than the back one.

If it is your tranny cooler you can still add a second cooler. Just put it inline with factory cooler. It's done everyday. That's how I did the one on my previous truck. Also get a good temp. guage. Fords have a test port you can use for the temp. guage line.

THis is the best I can find out. the 4.8, 5.3, and 6.0 use the same cooler.
At least that what the GMParts direct says
I checked out my 04 your 07 is the same cooler.

amaze wrote: It could be your A/C condensor. Would not know for sure unless you follow the lines.
Seems small for the condensor but I don't see a condensor and it does look like one as you say. And I thought most OEM trans coolers were stacked plate instead of tube and fin like a/c condensors. Ultimately the connections will tell what it is.

Yes, that should be the plate type ATF external cooler.
Here are two pictures of my Suburban while it was in the autobody shop
after running into that LandRover which jumped a stop sign.
First is the whole front end and the second is a closeup for more
detail. Scanning left to right.
- Very left edge is the engine coolant radiator
- Then the AC condenser which the fan is right on and goes across to the Hydrobooster cooler
- Aux electric fan
- center support with one of the horns
- External ATF cooler...the one your pictures show from the top
- Hydrobooster fluid cooler

Can tell what is what by which type of cooler.
AC is under very high pressure, so fin/tube.
ATF is not under high pressure, so plate type.
Engine radiator is not under high pressure, but is fin/tube, but mainly
because of the historical way of it and that it is very big and plate
types don't come in that sizing, yet.

A 4.8L and a 3.23 axle do not make a towing package by any way or shape. Do you mean 3.73?
First it appears that you need a bit more truck or a bit less trailer.
