I recomend the Carlisle tire, a quality tire made in the USA. I have had years of trouble free service with mine.

I have LT truck tires on my trailer, and have been very satisfied. I think tires made for vehicles are often of better quality than the trailer tires that are often speed rated very low and do not have the carrying capacity of truck tires.

I went to check out our trailer after a long winter of storage. I noticed some minor sidewall cracking on one of the tires. I think they may need to be replaced. Just looking for tire recommendations, and potential cost. I've found prices for Carlisle tires, but my understanding is that they not that good a tire. The trailer currently has Goodyear tires. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I just bought a set of Goodyear Marathon 215R75/14 load range C

While you may have had good success, most have not. A search of the Carlisle name here on this forum will reveal interesting results.

A search of any tire brand will reveal problems, all you ever hear on this forum is tire blow-outs.

The tire size that are currently on the trailer is st 205-75-15, but I'm not certain of the load rating.

It will say on the sidewall Load Range A B, C, D or E. If the max inflation is 35lbs, then it is almost certainly a B (1480 lbs)

I am getting new tires next week. Mine are ST 205/75 R15. I was just going to replace them with the same size. What does the load range mean and should I be concerned with it? I was planning on buying GY Marathons.

The Load Range is an indication of the load carrying capacity of the tire. You do need to be concerned, very concerned. Simplest way to determine what load range you need is to take the gross trailer weight and divide by four. then get a tire that exceeds this number by a comfortable margin.

Speed rating may be correct, but LT's carry less than ST in same size and load range in every tire chart I've seen. BTW, I don't call 65 mph pulling a trailer 'very low speed' -- That exceeds the trailer speed limit in some states -- YMMV!

ST tires are also made to withstand sitting unused for long periods of time -- More carbon and more UV protection.
