Just found we have the same problem. Darn grackles. I pulled everything out and put wadded up trash bags in there. When we go away I just remove the bags and then I am good to go.

Just go camping frequently (like every weekend) and it won't be a problem. A rolling stone gathers no moss

I took hardware cloth (1/4" hail screen) and cut to fit in the king pin box. It is stiff enough that you can bend it and it will stay put. Ours stays in there all year and we have had no problems since we did that. Word of caution tho, be sure you cover the small crack at the front of your king pin and the bottom of the bedroom area. It is not more than an 1" tall but starlings will crawl through there and set up housekeeping.

There's a guy at the airport where I live that has a plastic owl on his prop when the airplane is tied down. Was riding my bike the other day and saw a bird perched on the owl's head.
