I installed our new Humphreys propane gas light in our trailer's bathroom today. Our trailer has a radiant heat furnace (no blower) so the only way to heat the bathroom is to leave the bathroom door open. It gets really cold in there while camping in colder weather.

These lights put out quite a bit of heat and that will make using the bathroom a lot nicer.

They put out about the same light as a 60w light bulb.

I installed this gas light about last year, it works great for boondocking, a little bit of heat and light without draining the battery.

We bought it from Global Towne.

Maybe it's just me but it seems as though that towel rack might be asking for trouble.

Make sure you have ventalation for that light or you might not wake up.
I had a propane light in my realy OLD Field and Stream and I did like it for the heat it generated but it scared me with my children when camping, I was always afrade they would try to turn it on and and not use a match then forget to turn off the valve.

thanks, we've used one for about a year and have no kids to worry about. We do crack open the jalouise windows by the lights and never leave them on at night, the furnace keeps us warm after dark.

For some reason your post didn't show up the first couple of times I checked back here.

We monitored our other light very close as to the ceiling temps and how low the heat level was. After installing the light we let in burn for about 2 hours checking it continually and everything seems OK.

I think if the mantel were to break off and fall while it was lit the trailer filling with propane would be big concern too.

We only plan on lighting it 10-15 miunte before using the shower in colder weather, it wont be lit for extended periods of time.

Thanks, we'll still keep an extra eye on it.

Hello, do you mind sharing how you hooked into your propane system?
Thank you,

Our trailers main gas line runs under the trailer. I tee'd in here to the line that runs up to the stove/oven.

I ran the new gas line along the inside of the frame and up through the floor into the closet that is next to the bathroom.

I ran the gas line up the wall and drilled through it to attach the gas line to the lamp on the other side of the wall.

This is where I tied into for the light in the main kitchen area of the trailer. This line feeds the fridge.

Line through cupboard.

Attaching to the light.

An open flame in the potty. That coould be trouble. HAve to hold back on the beans. That is a cool idea. We had an old office trailer, (Shasta), it had one from the factory, right by the stove, but the globe was gone, and it needed a mantle, which I think coleman would work. But we never could find a globe.

Thanks, we'll watch the "gas".

New globes are fairly plentiful these days with the internet. This light needed a new globe and we bought it from Vintage Trailer Supply.

We've been camping twice now and the gas light in the bathroom works excellent. It takes about 15 minutes to warm the bathroom up.

No more cold bathroom, it's great taking showers now, no "steam" and NO condensation on the walls and ceiling.

Wished I'd put one in years ago.
