My generator on my 36fs would not start the other day, the fuel gauge in the cab is under a 1/4 of a tank. Is this the normal level in which the generator is not able to get to the fuel?

That is true for most motor homes. 1/4 tank of gas and the genset will not get any gas.

That is correct for most motorhomes running gennys from the RV fuel tank. The purpose is to avoid having the genny run you out of fuel inadvertantly. Could leave a person stranded. JMHO

Yes, 1/4 of a tank is the cut off. It's a stand pipe system so you do not run yourself out of fuel when running the genny. Actually, if you are driving, you can have the generator cut out when above 1/4 because of fuel sloshing in the tank...I did it yesterday myself.

You will notice that the generator is no longer running and you will usually have a fault (Code 13 or 14 I think) showing on the generator panel showing a frequency control failure. This is from the unit surging when running out of fuel. The manual gives instructions on how to restart after you ran it dry and it only takes a minute. Basically all you do is press and hold the start button until it restarts.
