DW and I have the same problem. It looks like we will be trying some of these ideas.

We use the plastic hangers on the regular bar, but we put rubber bands on the top of the hook where it contacts the bar. We keep doubling over the rubber bands until the end is very short.

mxaaron:

I was just about to post this also, as I saw this addition at my local Komfort dealer, but you got there first with photos. Our Komfort does not have this, as it is a new feature recently added, but I though it was the best answer I had seen yet.

I don't think it would be that hard to add something like this to any trailer.

What kind of hangers is everybody using? I ask this because we just use the old fashion wire hangers and have not had a problem. Of course with that being said, next trip I will probably find all our clothes on the floor. But if I do just got some great ideas!

I agree, we just use the regular plastic hangers from Walmart that I use in the house. We have never had any fall off. Granted we haven traveled very far with our TT. We have upgraded our TV so we will be going further this year. LOL...now that I posted all our clothes will wind up on the floor...LMAO

Well over 5000 miles traveled with plastic Wally World hangers. 2 wardrobe closets in the front bedroom, one huge, almost walk in, closet in the main area of the trailer, no clothes on the floor yet. Noting even moves in our TT when traveling. I do have the paper towels un-roll and the med cabinet is pretty messed up when we open it, but thats about it. I did have one panic stop that sent a knife block, full of knives, sailing to the front of the TT, thanks to an inconsiderate driver that pulled out in front of us and then stopped.

We found if you use the wire hangers.....just pinch the hook part so it wont come off. You can do it by hand or use a pair of plyers.....easy fix

Another possible factor..

Does your trailer have shocks?

I'll bet that most of those with a problem here do not.

Shocks = less bounce... Simple fact.

have a rear bedroom(last 2 TT's) and the best and easiest way to fix this-measure the width and get the spring loaded bars that they sell for cabinets/refers and put that infront of the bar with the hangers between the closet rod and spring bar.
biggest problem we have is forgetting to put the spring bar up

That is my solution, but I can't tell if it works just yet since the closets are in the very rear on each side of the bed and I'm putting the bar on one and not the other to see if it works. The three days I've tried this both closets still had the clothes on them. The first day out both closets w/o any retainer were all on the floor and the second day one closet was on the floor and the other wasn't. Had the same problem in our old trailer with a closet in the very rear where the rod runs side to side. Never had a problem with closets where the rods are front to back.

We use the "Stay Put" RV hangers ... made by Lynx, the same folks who make the leveling blocks. They work great!
