Just curious about Hwy 385 from Sidney, Ne to Custer, Sd, and then Hwy16 from Custer, SD to Hill City, SD. How about then northe of Hill City to Deadwood then on north to I90 via hwy14a and 85? How are the clearances along this route? I am about 13' 2" tall. Is this highway pretty good?

Thanks

We have driven all this with a 37' 5er, around 12 1/2 ft high. No clearance problem whatsoever, not even close. You should have no clearance problems. The road North from Hill City to Tombstone has some pretty good, but driveable, hills, mostly downhill heading North. North out of Tombstone again hills, but not really a problem.

14A through Spearfish canyon will take some time but is a very pretty drive. No clearance concerns though.

Thanks to both of you. My parents are driving from Oregon, and we are coming from Texas and meeting at Rafter Bar J Ranch for a few days and then going to Yellowstone from there.
