We just started a year or so of full time. See our signature for details.
The floor plan of our 5er has worked out as well or better than we expected. However, the 7.3 F250 doesn't have as much pulling power on steep mountain passes as I expected. Many times today I was down to 45MPH in the slow lane with the big trucks as we did the I5 in Southern Oregon.

We've been fulltime since October of 2005...Started in a TT and now have a 2008 Heartland Bighorn 3600RL, pulled by a Chevy C4500 Kodiak pickup conversion.
Love the rig, and hope to continue fulltiming for years to come...if diesel prices will allow it!!

The motorhome definitely had its strong points so it's impossible to state that one type of RV is vastly superior to the other. In my opinion, though, I think a fiver has the edge in certain areas such as livability and the fact there isn't an extra engine/drivetrain to be concerned with. Once encamped, it isn't more difficult than setting up a motorhome, although I must admit it's easier to back a motorhome into a site. Still, with practice, a fiver isn't too difficult to maneuver. A new fiver owner will have to expect a learning curve because this is quite a different animal compared to a MH. Still, IMHO it's not too difficult at all. Just practice!
As far as traveling goes, I don't notice any affect at all when passed by large trucks. I can keep one hand on the wheel with confidence. It's a pleasure to tow. The motorhome I owned was affected by passing trucks, but not to a great degree.

See signature for our current setup. Been fulltiming since Oct 1998. Just bought a Doubletree Mobile Suite 36TK3 which we should get next week.
To bad Travel Supreme went out of business.
