Y'know all that white adhesive left on your rig when you pull off duct tape after 6 months in the sun??
What the heck do you use to get it off without destroying the paint job???

Any advice appreciated ...

PENUT BUTTER Yes it sounds funny but it worked. I had some tape residue on the bumper. I smeered it with penut butter and let it set acouple minutes then rubbed it off. Oh and before you ask use the smooth kind.

don't use GOO GONE It will attack paint and melt some plastic

Heck yeah, but wipe it off with multi grain for the added grit, then you can have lunch after or at the same time.

Smooth Peanut butter, you have to work on it more than once but it really worked for me.

Trip to the Dollar Store for some Goo Gone---never had it do anything to paint I have used it on many surfaces and if it does anything to the outside paint on your rig you got bigger problems then duct tape residue---Peanut butter will work in a pinch but is a waste of good peanut butter if you dont got jelly too

While removing sticker residue on my boat I used brake cleaner. It worked better than Goo Gone or what ever that stuff is by a long shot.

Lamp oil or charcoal lighter fluid will normally remove most adhesives without damage to paint or most other surfaces. Just don't smoke while using.
