We have a brand new 2008 cougar 304bhs travel trailer. people at work are jealous. they say ill be screwed if i get in a acccident and that ill be over the 10,000 lb mark and need class 1 license with "G" attachment. I think my camper says 7600 lbs on door inside dry.
My tow vehicle is a 2004.5 dodge ram 2500 diesel 4X4 quad cab short box with about 500 HP because i have mods done to it.Do i need a bigger rig to pull it or why are they saying im screwed and that im overweight and will lose everything if im in accident.
What's jealousy got to do with it. Your either legal or your not. Instead of wondering why not just go weigh your combo and be done with it. IF your not legal your co-workers could be right.
btw, there is no correalation between the HP of your truck and your ability to tow safely within the tow ratings.
I got a 20$ bill that says when loaded your overweight.
Ask them if they want to go camping with you. Tell them they would have to ride with you. When they say yes tell them that you forgot you were overweight and by putting them in your TV you would be WAY OVERWEIGHT! Don't you just love people like that? Don't worry about them. Just have fun with your new RV.
