What do other seasonal campers to instead of the traditional P.T deck . Do you use crushed stone. Looking for a more economical way

We did the last two seasons as a seasonal. We just used an indoor outdoor carpet. Most of the time this was fine, except when it rained. Where are you going to be a seasonal?

A deck made with Pressure Treated lumber - you know, the green stuff.

Nice place - we are Eastern Slope on the Saco River but we travel a few times a year too. The camper is in my yard right now after dragging it home from it's winter home @ Trafford's RV in Conway.

Anyways, Traffords (and other camping supply places) carry a brand of awning rugs that are a weaved plastic material that you can get in many patterns and colors. I bought 2 of them and they cover the area under my 20' awning and then some. They have a nail type anchor with a washer to grab the built in gromment on the rug. I think I paid $55 for each of them. They were used all last year and fold for ease of storage, are hose washable and withstand any wear you can throw at them.

Best of all they are cheap and well made and unlike "astro turf_ breathe and allow water to flow through - I encourage anyone to try these. I wish I new the name brand.

Our site had some gravel, we had more delivered and spread it around how we wanted it, outlined with landscape boards. We tack down indoor/outdoor carpet that stays under the awning, with a picnic table sitting on it.

Last year I bought an awning mat from Camping World. Looked very nice, water drained right through, easy to wash off with the hose. Within 2 months it had dry rotted and was tearing, obviously not meant to be left outside 24/7 so this year it's back to the indoor/outdoor carpet. Hope this helps

I have had those mats last five years or more left in place all summer...

I also had one go bad in one season of part time use...

sometimes you just get a bad one (of almost anything)...

I wouldn't use id/od carpet even if you paid for it... just my opinion,

I know many like it because its cheap, I used it for about four days once and gave it to Mr. Dumpster...

nasty, dirty, wet and heavy... no thanks... maybe to cover a slab would be ok...
