Well, we got our first TT this year so we are going to use it. The original reason we bought it is to camp within 50-100 miles of home, and that is what we are going to do. We are lucky enough to live at the base of the Southern Rockies in Northern NM. The way I look at it is you have to eat anyway, so food won't be too much more than usual. The only offset will be gas to get us to a camp spot within 50-100 miles of home and the camp site fees. If we stay at a state park we'll only pay $14 a night. Not sure what USFS fees are but I imagine not too much. I will probably stay away from boating too much this year. That's what we usually do and we used to camp at the lake and "rough" it. Using our TT will actually be cheaper than boating. My boat will eat a tank of gas a day. We had thought of a trip to Puerto Penasco, MX, but that surely won't be happening. I'll be more than happy in the Northern New Mexico mountains!

I thought they were unbelievable when they got over 29 cents a gallon. Glad I didn't wait for them to come back down then. Not waiting now either.

We have no current plans to change our camping habits. This is how we spend our entertainment dollars. We rarely go to the movies, we eat out maybe once or twice a month, and we budget these dollars ahead of time. Camping is how we relax and make it through the hustle and bustle of life!

Pretty cool idea with the circle. We started that when gas was $2.50 a gallon. Now the circle is drawn around our house. Other than our big summer trip, we are going to pretty much last minute plan weekends. A bigger factor than last year is going to be the weather. If weather is going to be a wash out, we will hold off for a better one. No sense wasting fuel, and camping fees then have to stay inside. We used to go rain or shine, noreaster or snow.

I guess you could say we are out of the game. Other than some short occasional trips it is cheaper to stay in motels wherever we go (by a large margin). I can't stomach the Idea of selling just yet. Our trailer is like a member of the family. That's O.K. we made some great memories along the way.

We're staying within about 100 miles of home here on the PA/NJ border, and just cancelled two trips, one to New England and one to South Carolina. Shame we had to do it, but I'll endeavor to find places more local that are nice as well.

No plans to sell; I'll "driveway camp" before I sell - the MH is paid off.

We do one big trip a year and fill in the rest with shorter more local trips. We won't be cutting back on trips, just the extravagance once we get there

I guess I shouldn't rub the salt into the wound....but I can't resist it because I am so irritated at the oil companies....but the Oil Companies are making about $1.3 million in profit every second! That is $4.75 billion per hour! Oh well....that's life in todays world I guess......
