Well you have sold me. I have the sig truck now and looking to upgrade but not sure about diesel. I have the same reservations that now that you did. Glad to hear there is a bright side to the "dark side"

And just think, the gap between gas and diesel is closing...somewhat. Around here there was an .80 gap and now it is only .40. I could not imagine going back to a gasser...for anything. I've gone total diesel power starting with my litte V-Dub and tractor. Next will be the mower. I ain't skeerd.

The question is, how many miles do I have to put on my 2006 Ford F-250 (turbo)diesel before it starts getting better mileage? I am getting about 13.1 mpg overall in the city/highway and I have about 17,000 miles on the engine. I have been told by others that the mileage will get better, and I am still waiting. How long do I have to wait?

What he is getting at is the fact that the diesel engine is so heavy it tends to sink the front end much deeper in the mud.

Darth Vader drives a diesel. T.I.E. fighter=Tubordiesel Injection Engine Fighter. If its good enough for Vader, its good enough for me. Once you use the dark side of the force, there can be no going back. Only the foolish Jedi cling to the old ways.

Hey the smell and noise is only if you are out of the truck. Pulled our rig in Colorado to Estes Park from Bolder. The previous owner of our truck gave it straight pipes. One would have thought a B1 Bomber was flying down the canyon. I rolled the windows down and enjoyed the sounds of nature.
