My kids are older and more "boyish" (for lack of a better term) So the Veggies, Max & Ruby, Backyardigans etc... are no more, but I often will find myself humming the tunes that go along with these great kids shows. (just to bug the boys - LOL)
Happy Camping!
P.S. I heard my oldest(12) humming/singing an ACDC song yesterday...

I order movies that my kids will like from Amazon Unbox and it is downloaded directly to my tivo(thru wifi)and then burn to dvd or get the kids friendly movies from Starz(I subscibe about two months out of the year). I have 3 cases of movies for the kids to choose from. They both have a personal dvd player(mainly for rainy weather or night time) I get netflix so I take whatever movies comes out that week for the dh and I to watch before bed. We are heading out tomorrow nite and we will be watching One Missed Call. That should be real good and creepy

We only watch movies while camping to help us get to sleep. The ones we watch the most are:
In Harm's Way
12 O'clock High
The Quiet Man
Just Like Heaven
Failure to Launch
They are all good movies, but we've seen them so many times we don't need to watch to know what's going on. We can close our eyes and relax and still keep up with the movie, for a little while... The quicker we go to sleep, the better the movie!

Lots of good suggestions here - forgot about Northern Exposure - I could watch John Corbett all day long!
The kids always put "Elf" in the camper - we all get the giggles from this one. My son usually has one of the Star Wars movies along.
Do what YOU want to do camping and enjoy! There aren't any required activities- that's the best part!!!

You know, you really shouldn't make people feel bad because they watch movies in their campers. It's really dosent matter what folks do, as long as they aren't loud and obnoxious at their campsite and annoy me. Camping is what you make of it, and if people want to watch movies, go for it. We have campfires in our back yard. Am I not supposed to do that, I should only do that while camping? Give a little people. You sound like camping martyrs.
We like:

Christmas Vacation

The Great Outdoors
SpongeBob ( i have a whole season, boring enough to fall asleep to)

Is it ever too early to plan your holiday movies? One terribly overlooked Christmas movie that's way overdue for a permanent place next to Jean Shepherd's A Christmas Story every year is Albert Finney's SCROOGE from 1970. A completely wonderful musical in the 70's style of Oliver, Willie Wonka, Doctor Doolittle, and simply the most rich and glorious telling of the story that I've enjoyed for decades. It was criticized in the 70s for the "harshness" of actually following Scrooge down his waiting grave and into hell itself where Alec Guinness's Marly showed him what it was really going to be like. Today these scenes are on a par with the Wicked Witch's flying monkeys or even Willie Wonka's Oompa Loompas, and so can be enjoyed for the memorable richness of their part in the story. The three ghosts and their visits with Scrooge are heartwarming, ebullient, life-affirming, and thoughtfully ominous, and you will not find more joyous music - really more joyous music - in any holiday film. As jaded or parboiled as you may tend to become over all the commercialized holiday syrup - forget all that and let Albert Finney take the place of this character in your mind forever, as he has mine.
Scrooge will have a permanent place in my RV library - as soon as I actually get the RV!

Just think when the electronics people get these movies put on thumbdrives instead of DVDs we can take a drawer full! Right now we have a shoebox (loafer size box) full of DVDs and that is the limit .. gotta find another place to stash another box! Maybe just the sappy girly shows for me & daughter. -Marji
