I have been an RVer for 33 years and owned 7 different ones. We now have a 2008 Sundance 3200ES. We looked at all units in the mid-range and felt the Sundance gave best for the money. Very well built and many extras in this price range. Our unit has a very nice floorplan and pulls very well. We did add the MorRyde pin box to smooth the chucking on concrete roads. A fifthwheel under 12' tall was a requirment for us, in order to fit in our storage building.

I am in about the same position that you are right now. Check out my post "Heartland-Sundance". I am going this weekend to look at more in Hammond, LA. You may look at dealers and be suprised of the higher quality units you can by used for those prices. I think I'd rather have a couple of year old Hitchhicker or Cameo the the middle of the pack.

I have not ruled out a used unit. Actually a 1 year old slightly used is probably a better unit than a new off the lot since the original purchaser has had to deal with the knick knack warranty crap. I looked at Montanas and Mountaineers at the urging of a friend and was really not too impressed. They were really nothing more than an oversized Cougar. Same interior, cabinets, blinds,table,etc. Also heard a lot of good about Open Roads but was not real impressed with them either. Does any other makes offer the white cabinets like Keystone does with the Sydney. It seems to make such a difference in the "openness" feel versus the standard oak cabinets.

Here is another vote for Pilgrim products. We have the Open Road in my signature and have been extremely pleased. We spent four months on the road last year and just started our five month summer this year. Everyone will tell you that theirs is the best. You must choose the one that has the best floor plan for your needs and fits your budget.

I agree with Potsy, I really like the Pilgrim products, they stand behind their stuff, Open Road has gotten expensive through, they went up again this year by about 14-16,000. I also like the Legends series..

We purchased a new leftover 2007 Keystone Cougar 291RLS, 2 slides,
and we got it for around $24,000.
We are very happy with our unit.
We had one minor issue & our dealer took care of it promptly.
We are just loving all the room - we are in a 31 ft unit
and came from a 21 ft hybrid!
