Hi,
I'll have to load some pics in for ya! This place is great IMHO. We have gone there for many years, yes, its very busy there, yes there are tons of golf carts strolling by, but we like it there because once you check in everyone there leaves you alone. We have five dogs who camp with us, as long as we keep things picked up, we have always felt welcome. We take all of them out on the beach with us before 9 AM and after 4 PM they have a blast. The pool, with lazy river, nice store, golf cart rental, laundry, hot tub, indoor pool, its all there. Make sure you visit the Broadway on the Beach area too while there. Have fun in August!!

I have been going there since 1975 and just love it. Going there for first two weeks in May. Just got an e-mail from them, giving 20% off from now till May 15th.
Plenty of room for whatever size MH you have. Call and ask for their newsletter, plenty of pictures.

We have been going there for 18 years or so. Many people complain about the site size, but our impression has always been that the sites seem pretty big. In the beach area you have a shelter at each site except the pull-throughs. That takes up some space, but we love them. I have stayed in parks up north in non-resort areas which have much smaller sites. As usual, if you have decent neighbors, the site size is not so important. I have seen everything from tents to 40 ft. MH's so I believe they will find you a space. The facilities are very nice--love the lazy river. As for pics, the ones on their site aren't bad at all. Have fun, but we will miss you--we are going in June and September this year.

Has anyone stayed at both Ocean Lakes and Pirateland? How do they compare? For those who have been to Myrtle Beach in September, is it still warm enough to swim in the ocean?

Yes - we have stayed at both. I really have no preference between the two, but DW like PL better. She likes having the additional shelter and love's the Lazy River. The kids (now 8 & 2) like PL, but probably wouldn't know the difference between them. We stayed at OL last Memorial Day and PL for Labor Day... being a holiday weekends, both were packed!
As far as the Ocean in Sept - well it just really depends on the weather leading up to that time. Sometimes it gets cooler earlier and other times its later. I can remember being at MB in Oct and the ocean was still warm enough to get in (once you can past the inital chill). A lot of it depends on your tolerance of course.
