I have XM and I have a car mount by the stereo at the end of my overhead cabinet. I ran the antenna wire inside the cabinet and attached it to the inside roof with velcro. The important thing is having the antenna right side up. The roof does not even slightly stop the signal. Out of sight, out of mind, no holes in Camper.

I Guess that car antenna has x-ray vision so it has "line of sight" right through the roof.

I expect someday soon satellite TV will go to a similar, non-directional antenna system that does not need pointing.

We have our Sirius Boom Box sitting on our bedroom dresser. The antenna wire runs out the Exit window and sits on top of the RV. It's been there over 2 years without dropping off. We thought about drilling a hole in the roof, but didn't want another water entry point on the 5er.....

I ran our Xm antenna under the dinette thru a cargo compartment and attached to the metal on the water heater cover.

I saw this method on a personal website and tried it. I mounted the antenna on top of the sewer vent pipe on the roof, ran the wire down the pipe and drilled a 1/4" hole one inch below the ceiling in the pipe in the closet. Pulled the wire through and sealed the c*&p out of the hole! No pun intended. My antenna didn't work inside either. But then again, sometimes where I live, it doesn't work outside either.....
