Just came across this the other day at a tractor shop. Supposed to be very good, but then a salesman will tell you anything. It's called CA-40 fuel additive, the price is high, Farm Pro $39.00, on-line $35.00 but it treats 480-640 gallons.
If any one has used it can you tell us how you like it?

Not sure. I've talked with one person that's used it and he swears by it. Said his MPG went up 15%. The only thing keeping me from trying it, other than I don't know anything about it is the cost.
Hope to hear from others that have used it.

Go the the website and click on the MSDS link and you'll see that it is mainly Calcium Sulfonate and Castor oil.

Sounds like snake oil to me. The only sure way to improve mileage is to drive like you have a raw egg under your right foot. That and get the darn Government out of the car business!

Just to pass on info on a great product. Made from soybean oil for us diesel owners. This is one product that does what it says. http://www.soyclean.biz/shopping/productsdetail.asp?cat=DFA

I have been adding soypower to my diesel for 2 yrs now. Stock injectors are still in as well as the fuel pump. My 01 has 266k miles. It actually quieted down the noisy 7.3L. About 14k miles ago my wire harness under my valve covers come loose. Took it to my mechanic to have the harness changed out, while the truck was in, I had him pull a few injectors just to look at them. He was shocked to see how clean they were as well as how good of shape they were in. Was that due the soypower and M1 5w-40? Hmmm I will stick with what works.

Just wanted to share what works for me.

Never heard of it. Powerservice is a proven diesel fuel additive and easy to find. I run the silver bottle in the summer and the white bottle in the winter. I have 80k on my 2004 Ram CTD with powerservice in every tank.

When fuel prices get high, these additives come out of the woodwork.

Lets think about this for a minute. If these additives, especially the ones that are not cost prohibitive, really worked, wouldn't you think that the big players, oil companies and fleet users, would be using it? Now the cynics will say why would the oil companies put something that increases mileage into their fuel? That's an easy answer. If you could get 15% more mileage from brand X, even for a little more costs, why would you buy brand Z? The oil company could not produce enough, and the fleet users would be lining up to buy it.

This stuff is just a waste of money. It relies on people who want to believe it works. And those that do will line the pockets of the manufacturer. What did P.T. Barnum say, "There is a sucker born every minute."
