I have been shopping for my first tt for a while now and i'm actually getting to where I am only about half lost and only mostly overwhelmed by the masive selection out there. I found a Jayco that I like but it's 4 yr's old and pretty heavy. I have just found a rockwood that I like a 2008 new that is alot lighter and about the same length and floor plan with the 1 yr warranty for about $2000 more. My tow vehicle will pull either with no problem.
What would you do?!!!

Your TV will probably enjoy the lighter trailer. No experience with either one, but after 20 years of being happy Starcraft owners, we just traded in for a new Flagstaff (same mfg as Rockwood).

Jayco and Rockwood were my finalist when I was looking. I went with the Jayco, less problems reported with Jayco on this website!

I'll chime in and add to the Jayco statistics...all of the past 6 Jayco's we've had have been remarkably trouble free, and our #7 is still going strong, soon to be replaced by a new #8 Jayco!

No issues with build quality, craftsmanship or overall RV itself!

We had our previous Jayco for 11 years & my brother had it for 10 years before that -- never a problem that wasn't caused by operator error!!

That is a tough call. Jayco's are great TT's and so are Rockwoods. If the new one is only $2000 more than I would go with it.

If the Jayco is heavier, maybe there is a reason? Our Jayco has solid oak cabinetry, a full ceiling height and I feel like very well built.

I speak from experience..had a 1997 Jayco and never had a problem. Sold it due to the kids getting busy and we weren't using it enough. Several years later got a Rockwood. Had nothing BUT problems! Sold it and just took delivery of a new Jayco....can already tell the difference in quality. Plus, the 2 year warranty is better protection.
