My decision to go Jayco or Rockwood would be based on what I was towing it with. If I had a Diesel, I'd go for the Jayco in a second. That said, both are very nice trailers.

For only 2 grand more, I'd take the rockwood. warranty, new appliances(no one can argue all manuf. use the same one's), lighter weight= better gas milage. In another year your tires will be five years old and need replacing. I have had no problems with my rock.

We had a 2007 Rockwood and had nothing but problems. We traded it in after one season for a Jayco 322FKS and love it. IMO I think Jayco is built better..

Keep looking - when you find it you'll know it.
Personally, we chose Jayco over Rockwood.

Before we bought our Jayco, we had narrowed the choices to Rockwood or Jayco. After spending quite a bit of time on dealer lots went Jayco as size for size, we felt the accomadations were more suitable for our needs. Granted the Jayco has a 2 year warrenty but it's almost not important as the couple of small things that popped up in the 1st 6 months.....then nothing.

However, we did like the Rockwood and it was a close decision.

Another vote for Jayco, but Rockwood makes a nice trailer! Have you looked a new Jayco? Lots of choices in floorplans and good deals to be had! Also, Jayco has a 2yr warranty!
We love our Jayco and it's been trouble free!
In the end, get what is best for YOU! Good luck!

Reading all these posts reaffirms my decision to buy Jayco 4 years ago.

okay, I'm going to go with a negative on Jayco. when we were shopping for a 30' TT we compared Jayco and Surveyor (Rockwood's brother). My parents had a 30' Jayco and it was very tongue heavy. hitch weight on the Jayco was 800 pounds, hitch weight on basically the same Surveyor was 440 pounds. When I saw what the Jayco did to my dad's 4x4 F150 in how it loaded the back down, I almost didn't buy a 30' TT. I gambled on the Surveyor being half the hitch weight and didn't have a problem.

Jayco's are heavy, but look at the toung weight as much as the total weight.

Please note that this comparision was only done on one model of Jayco verse one model of Surveyor. So other models of Jaycos might not be as bad.

Go with Jayco. Overall better value and quality.
