My Sunseeker is fine with the slide in. My daughter had to remind me to put the slide out after we got set up at a campground on Friday evening.

Wow, after reading this I need to know if anyone out there has a 1998 Beaver contessa naples, Is their a problem getting through the motor home with the slide closed on that unit??
We are buying one next week but have not seen it yet, we are buying it off an ad from RV Trader. We need to Fly into another state to purchase it. Everything sounds great about it, but I never realized this could be a problem. Please you Beaver owners let me know.or any other problems we should be aware of on this year unit.

Isnt there a safty code manufacturers have to go by for walking room while slides are in? For safty issues.

IN our TT, we have access to all the important stuff when our slides (side couch slide and rear queen slide) are in--kitchen, bathroom, and refrigerator.
I went to a RV show on Saturday to look at 5ers. There were a couple of units that I could tell that when the slides were in it was going to be hard to get to things. When I asked the salesperson about it, he said that some folks can squeeze through, and others might have to extend the slide a little for access.
It won't be a deal breaker for me, but I'm getting savvy enough to ask about such things.

I'm sure RVers with the above units will chime in. Ours is a quad slide, room to easily walk down the isle way when both opposing slides are in. Can't get to the closet when the bedroom slide is in. Not a real problem.
Since it's illegal to ride in a 5th wheel or TT when moving in most states I guess it doesn't matter!

We have no problem getting around inside our Jayco 25Z. It is smaller but we can got to everything with no problem.

On our Alfa Toyhauler, you can access everything slides in or not, with one exception... the entertainment cabinet. That's not a big deal as most of the time you don't care to watch TV unless the slide is out. Ironically, the side window in the slide lines up perfectly with the TV so you can watch TV though the window with the slide in. The bedroom slide just covers the walkway between the side of the bed and the closet. You can still get to the left side of the bed, the bed is level and usable, and you can still open the closet doors and get clothes. In 2005 Alfa changed the way the bedroom slide works. The bed does the sliding and tilts (feet up) when slid in. Makes it impossible to sleep without extending the slide.

Not sure if your asking about hauling people? If so I wouldn't do that. I know it is done.
Our fifth wheel could be lived in with all 3 slides in. The only thing we would not be able to assces it the two recliners at the very rear.
As stated above close the slide when looking at the different units. It is not a big deal, probably less than a minute and then ou will know for sure

This was definately a consideration during the purchase of our Class C. We wanted to have realative access to everything when the slides were in; we also didn't opt to go with a kitchen that is in the slide for this reason. Everyone has different tastes, but like some of the earlier posts, we wanted to have everything accessable with the slides in.

2007 Sunova 27' only thing blocked with slides(2)in are the bedroom dresser drawers(by foot of bed). Can still open hanging stuff. Rest is just great - quick/travelling over nites just leave 'em in & don't bother puttin' down the leveling jacks if site is level.
