The top plate just holds up weight of the trailer at the pin box. Both are involved in turning a corner. So far they haven't developed a teflon sleeve for that.
Just for my info, where did someone find Teflon Lube plates? The one I got at CW was just polypropolene. I'll use it till it wears out, but Teflon is slicker.
I think they are all a white colored teflon. At least the ones I use are. I used to buy this teflon in sheets and use it to line the rudder posts of sailboats.

OK, thanks. I guess I gotta take another look at the fine print. I used to fool around with TFE, PTFE, and FEP varieties of teflon a lot. The white stuff (TFE and PTFE) always had a "greasy" feel to them. I didn't notice it on this product. Nice part about teflon is it is good for pretty high temperature, and it "cold flows". That means it will conform under pressure and stay that way. It also does not build up static electricity and attract dust like some other plastics.
Whatever it is it sure beats the old grease pancakes we used to throw on the plate of 18 wheelers.
