Well this is my 77th day in the camper. Living in Washington state I've had this desire to stand on Cape Flattery at the northwest corner of Washington state then travel diagonally across the country and stand at Key West in south Florida. WELL I JUST DID IT!!! WHAT A TRIP! WHAT A COUNTRY!

I'm not home yet but after much boondocking and Wal-Marting to save money for fuel I'm staying in the Salt Lake City KOA. So I'm finally connected back to the Internet.

So far I've traveled 11,388 miles. My truck with camper has averaged 12.74 miles per gallon. That comes out to 894 gallons of diesel. Total fuel cost of $3,383.50. A cost per mile of $0.2971. The average price I paid for diesel stands at $3.78 per gallon but remember we started in February and diesel was cheaper then.

My better half was with me until we reached Houston, Texas then an opening came up for her mother in a Danish nursing home so my wife went to Denmark to help her mother. Socialized Medicine is less than some would have you believe but that's off my subject.

If you like to travel this great country and have the time (retirement can be great) I sure recommend a trip like mine.

Fuel IS expensive but the trip has been priceless.

Lots:

It would be great to see a whole string of photos from your long-haul of boondocking, with anything you could provide in writing to stimulate others to attempt this, too

Cheers,

I have been to both points, but not in the same travel season. Now you will have to go in the other direction, Cabo San Lucas to Calais,Maine, or onto Nova Scotia. Been there, done that too.

Sound like an awesome trip.
I will continue to dream about such adventures, only 20 more years until we retire?
I hope to save enough money to afford such trips (401K).

Sounds great! Do you have a map or track of your actual route? (along with pictures)
