I put in a tank at the camper shed. That way I will have full hookups there when done.
Never know when someone will need to stay over night. Have a few friends that bring there campers at times. And when I finish it up. They can back up under the shed and set up camp. And may when its done let a few use it when they are coming through on trips. 15ft high and 35ft wide by 30ft deep.
Also nice if he wife kicks me out of the house. LOL

Jim & Sue,
You welcomed anytime. Just pull up and while dumping we can visit with a margarita or 2. My neighbors friends(full timers too) use my clean out everytime they come through.

Rawhyde,
That is a great idea. I wonder why I have not thought of that? Probably because I am friends with my neighbor.
When I did my own sewer hookup I put in 2 clean outs that I use. One by the street and the other behind the fence. I like using the street because of the angle it puts on the tank to make sure all of is flows out and down.

Well alllllrightty then, Lets just have a block party. I have about half a block of parking and we all can line up for a dumping party. I'll supply the dump station, ice(I'll turn on my industrial ice maker), glasses, water, shade and grass.
I have a 1500 gal septic tank. According to this link http://www.inspect-ny.com/septic/tanksize.htm my system is sized to handle 800 to 900 gallons of wastewater daily, about 60 gallons hourly for normal waking hours - every day. Don't see the problem with volume from the RV, seems to be more official concern about chemicals. I use Odorlos, claimed to be septic safe. No problems so far and tank has had one inspection (satisfactory) after the first year of using for RV waste. Inspections here are mandated every 4 years, hopefully I'll know of a problem before it gets too bad.

I will not challenge any specific post, but would advise an unknowing reader to take this thread as entertainment only, and check where you live to see what you can or cannot do.
Personally, I have lived the past 35-years on well water and a septic system. I have had this experience in no less than two counties, and and three sewer districts. I am truly amazed at some of the stuff I read here. I think I will go and mix a margarita.
whazoo, you and trails2004 are welcome to join me. It would probably be more healthy than some of the info we get.

I'll be right over there Wayne. I guess that's why they call it "gettin S_it Faced." LOL!

this is a good web site.
Thanks, septic tank size
It is a good site, but I don't know how much faith I put in their numbers.
When I was a kid, everyone in our area had 300 gallon steel septic tanks and got along well with them until the cover rusted out.
Now, 1000 gallons is the normal size.
Back to the original topic, it all boils down to common sense. Sure you can have problems if you drop a lot of solids in a very short time, but, if I'm typical of most people, I always have a lot more gray water than black. (I don't ever remember completely filling the black tank.)
If you dump it in 10 or 15 gallon drops, wait a while for the solids to settle, then repeat, I can't imagine having a problem with solids flowing out the discharge of the tank and into the leach field.

When my grown kids were inspecting our new fifth wheel, one asked why we bought a trailer that sleeps 4. My reply was that we couldn't find one that sleeps 2!
I have the 4" cleanout before my septic tank. I never used it because I always assumed that the blue stuff would mess with whatever process was going on in the septic tank. Maybe I was wrong, maybe not. I just pull in to one of the pastures and let her rip on the ground. A day or two later you can't even tell where I dumped it. Probably wouldn't work for the city dwellers though.
