Ummm, If ya dont like the rates, don't stay there.

>>>Wow, you mean you don't even consider the possibility of staying there, but paying less? I guess this is what I meant about "no price resistance".

I guess if you don't stay there, the campground owner doesn't have to pay fixed costs. If you can make a deal, good for you. But, if the campground owner can't make a profit on your rate, don't complain when they say no.

Maybe you should start a campground and charge 84 cents a night. You'd be making money like crazy.

States I have spent the night in my current rig, bought three years ago.
Have RV'ed through 49 states and been in all 50, just short of my half-century.

Heck dont be to hard on the OP. If it works for him that is great and it must work for the cg owner they agreed. No different than the passport america rates some cg's are with. Heck I used PP america last night at a $40 dollar campground (20 bucks instead) and it was ok.

My way works better. I will NOT spend the time necessary to locate any private RV Parks just for an overnight stay. And, why should I? It's so much quicker/handier to overnight at a Walmart.
But, for a destination RV Park, I negotiate the fee before I depart. I seek out boondocking sites and those where my Golden Age Passport is honored.

I'm new to RVing and for the last year I've been dry camping at Oceano Dunes .. where else can you get an ocean front room with a view for $10?
Recently a group of us basketball parents took our RVs to an out of town tournament and stayed at an RV park. The rate was $35 a night (off season rate). I found a "stay one night get one free" coupon online. You should have heard the manager whine when we all used them. We didn't make the offer, we just accepted it for crying outloud. Then we had to deal with all the rules, "bathroom key deposits", parking restrictions, blah blah.
I'm with some of the others .. $35 a night is too much money just to park and sleep. Besides that I think RV parks suck. Give me dry camping/boondocking or whatever you call it any day.

I do know places where that would not work.. But... Thanks for the idea in places where it will. Good suggestion.

(Some places I park you are not only going to pay the full price, You better have a reservation... In one city I have visited the most common response is "No room,No room, No room at the inn" they won't even try to shoehorn you in. I've been known to call a dozen places looking for a slab.. Found one, and now I know a few more places to call so I can find 'em faster )

Interesting discussion and food for thought.

I'll ask: What would you say if at the end of the month you boss said, "Here is you pay check for the month and by the way I'm only giving you 1/2 as much."
