Everyone has to learn proper camping camping etiquete, it is not a gene you a born with.
What a bunch of snobs. Quit your complaining, and stop acting like judge, jury and executioner and help people learn. Not everyone was raised camping, many of them are just starting.

I don't even think "camping etiquette" is the issue here. How about some good old common sense and courtesy. People that can't seem to open a drain cover and place their dump hose in properly, shouldn't even be using a camper. You don't need a "gene" telling you not to dump your waste on the ground.
I guess my opinion makes me one of the "snobs" here, then so be it, I will where my "snob sign" proudly.
I guess that makes me a "SNOB" also, at least I know I am in Good Company.

Not IN the dumptank, but ON it. Crappy toilet paper, and all the other stuff that goes with it. We had to stand in the pouring rain and try to hose down what we could
I Have personally witnessed people have an "accident" and not know to wash it down. After all its in the concrete depression with the hole at the bottom. But its automatically assumed they did it on purpose.

I DID park in front of one guy and wouldn't let him leave until he cleaned up the mess. He started honking his horn and inching toward me and I just ignored him. He finally got the hint and cleaned up the dump station then I backed out of his way.

Ok, I have to admit that was wrong, but the dog didn't knoew any better. The owner however?

Yeah, It couldn't be the fact they just don't know any better.

I really don't see how it can be anyone elses business how many people are in an RV.
There is definately some mob mentality going on here. Time and again, I see people doing things at campgrounds that are condemned on these forums, burning trash in the fire pit, buts on the ground, kids running wild, dog poop, the whole spectum of supposidly "unacceptable behavior by campers" . The only one I would concern myself with enough to make a fuss is the dump station. If I did run across a nasty dump staion I certainly wouldn't assume the worst about a persons intent.
When we were getting ready ready to buy our camper, thankfully (I think) I found this forum. Otherwise I probably would have burned trash in the fire pit, and committed other heinous crimes of camping. But if I did commit them I hope I would be treated to a friendly conversation and not the attitude I have seen here.
I think what people are saying here that it's just common sense. If you make a mess, you pick it up, you just don't leave it. That's usually (hopefully) something that one learns as a child. It doesn't matter where you are or what you're doing - pick up after yourself, be courteous to other people. But I also understand what you're saying that people shouldn't assume that everyone knows what they're doing.
As far as the attitude, I think its just a way of venting out frustration because, I know I do, you see so much of that (not following camping etiquette) in campgrounds. Also, it's easier to have "attitude" here on an internet forum. I know we have helped many a people while out camping, with either helping them back in, borrowing an item, giving advice, etc. I'm sure alot of people on this forum has done the same and has happily helped their fellow camper.

Well you are a very understanding person RandACampin.
I figured it was a good idea to run over to the dumpstation before I made my first dump and see what others were doing before I tried my hand at it.. I sure am glad I didn't see someone just dump it all over the ground..
And as far as saying "so" to people driving the wrong way in one way loops, there are small children riding their bikes looking the OTHER way for cars. Man, I hope I never run into you when camping. Dude, that's wicked rude and dangerous.

I agree with the driving the wrong way. This rule is put into place for safety reasons, and unfortunately kids don't always think to look the "other" way. We're members of a local campground, and you will get warned real quick by every camper you pass if you're going the wrong way, or going over the 5 MPH speed limit.

Yeah kinda proves my point. Not every street is one way because of kids playing in the street. Normally a one way street is for traffic flow. Now if everyone else could admit they were wrong...............
