I think les said it with" I dunno, maybe all those "Dr. Spock" generations are coming back to haunt us now, or perhaps it's something else that I'm not seeing, but again, there has definitely been a change in attitudes and behavior from the folks we camped with in our early days..."

Come on now if you was at home and crapped in the floor would you leave it? No matter what you do a blooming idiot is going to be around somewhere. My 1st trip of this year I backed in and was setting up and my wife walked to the bath house behind our site when I heard her yelling for me. The site behind us the folks was tent camping and had walked off (was Noon) and left their fire burning wind was blowing about 15mph and had caught the pine straw on fire and was headed toward the folks car liked about 3ft getting to it. We grabbed bowls put it out and a majority of the fire in the firepit. Cleared all the straw we could from the pit. When they finally returned about 15 min later all I could hear was the man griping about his fire being halfway put out. No concern about his car. Lady finally came over and told us thanks but man griped the rest of the afternoon. Oh well can't please everybody.

Last year our first trip of the season we were in a CG and our spot was mixed within the seasonal folks and all weekend long you smelled burning leaves from them cleaning up their sites after the fall. We won't be making that mistake again!

I agree, some people are just beyond rude and selfish. Either that or they're complete morons.

RV parks with seasonal sites are called "trailer courts" where I come from. You get what you pay for.

Bottom line is that I blame overpopulation for all our woes. We are just being forced to get along with more and more people in a ever shrinking world. I'm sure some of the old-timers here can attest to the fact that camping now in most modern campground is nothing like it used to be 10, 20,30 years ago.

Been camping for about 20 years and never had a confrontation with a neighbor until this year.

I was driving back to my site about 9:30 pm and noticed a boy to my left. He looked at me and the next thing I saw was the head of a 13 year old boy in the front of my truck. I hit the brakes. No I was not speeding but reacted to the situation. This was done deliberately by the boy, he had seen my truck, looked at me and then walked in front of the truck.

His family (the family from H@#@) was camping next to me.

I hollered at the kid "Don't be a d@m jerk, Name. Mother hollers at me and asks if the boy had walked in front of the truck. I said yes and then she proceeds to tell me not to speack to her son and not to swear at him. That about floored me because if it had been my kid, he would have been in deep trouble.

Even when I went into my tt, I was still shook up about what might have happened. Obviously, Mother was more concerned that I had used the word "d#m."

Needless to say that Mother and I had a few words and I enjoyed seeing them pull out the next morning.

These people had no camping ettiquette and broke about every campground rule. From having an open fire, to loud noises before and after quiet hours, to letting their dog run loose and mess on other peoples site.

RandACampin you take the cake. I'll bet you're the family that lives 10 miles from me. It's all about you isn't it? Hope I can make your next trip convenient & easy. You've made a name for yourself with this post. Stay the he(( away from me and my kids in the campground.

What? Because I try to give people the benifit of the doubt? Instead of assuming they are morons who don't camp by unwritten rules on purpose?
I have to agree with LAdams that you could approach some and talk to (civilly!!) and they would thank you for it, and there would be some that would tell you exactly where to go, however I think the later would be the mainority. If we all tried to civil approach instead of lynching them on the forum, you could at least say you tried.

Bluesfan I think you need to drink more beer and relax! If you are out camping...let me know who you are and I will happily ablige your request to stay the hell away from you, lest you see me make a camping faux pas. BTW at High Falls State Park this weekend the park rangers were driving the wrong way!

You know what, I'd love to talk to them civilly about what they are doing wrong or how they are annoying the rest of the campground but in most cases I don't speak their language so it make it kind of difficult.

Genekiwi, I have to both agree and disagree with you. I completely agree that you needed to address the situation, however, as a parent (and ex cub scout den leader) I can attest to the rule that it's NEVER a good idea to take up an issue with someone else's child when the parent is accessable. It's always better to sit on your anger for a few more moments, find the parent, and address the issue with him/her.

I've found when dealing with parents on these sorts of issues, that if your polite, introduce yourself, and speak to the issue, that MOST all parents will see the light of reason. For those that don't, feel free to ramp up the volume and ramp down the politeness.

Now I'm just remembering that thread about some CG are limiteding who can camp at there CG by how new ther rig is.

Wonder if some of us are commenting on this thread as if we agree about that!

The truth is, the issue's we talk about here will only get worse as RVing will be a bigger bang for the buck for families to get away.
We are agoing to see new folks who either are really new and have no clue....or the type who could give a rats a__ about any of us.

Its upto you how to handle your blood pressure or help, suggest,or comment to other people.....times are a changing!

How is it easier to let out your dump right there on the ground rather than in the hole? That would disgust me so much I couldn't do it, even if it were technically faster than connecting a hose. Yuck! I don't want to be walking around with waste all over the place.
