We made our reservations for this year's vacation and with diesel at $4.20 a gallon, we are staying in Florida.
Got reservations for Red Coconut for 4 nights in Fort Myers Beach, 2 nights at Tropical Palms in Kissimmee, 6 nights at Fort Wilderness in Disney World and then another 3 nights at Tropical Palms. This is for last week of June and 1st week of July.
Decided to just make the best of it and enjoy what is right here in our own back yard sort of speak

Ever tried Blueberry Hill in Bushnell? Wide sites and across the street from Wally World and just down the street from an RV dealer with parts.

We are doing the same thing. Instead of trip to Buffalo National River in Arkansas, we are doing three of the state parks in N. Georgia this June. We still plan a trip to West Virginia in the fall, but we will have to see what gas is costing then.

Well, we're still planning on Yuma fall-winter, but I would like to do more exploring of our own beautiful state (WA). There are a lot of parks I haven't seen since I was a kid, e.g., Mt. Rainier. Would also like to spend some time in Olympic NP if possible. We're blessed to have a lot of desirable destinations right here.

I'm also planning on hiking part of the WA PCT this year. More hiking, less driving. Maybe.

We are still planning on heading south, southern California and Nevada again next December for 3-4 months, but we shall see what we shall see regarding fuel prices. If it gets too much worse, I can always stay home and play with my snow blower. Of course, that takes gas also. What the heck, it's only money !

As to summer, we will camp some right here on the Columbia River (Lincoln Rock SP, Crescent Bar, Daroga SP) all nearby locations. It is hard to beat the weather and the scenery right here at home.

It is also hard to be away from the garden for very long here in the hot, dry part of the state.

Your concept sounds great and I'd love to be able to do that.
We have spent a lot of time in Florida over the past 3 or 4 years and have actually stayed at everyone of your planned locations. The Red Coconut was surprisingly one of our very favorites. Hopefully you can get positioned out on the ocean side of the street.
Unfortuntely out here on the the wide open prairie of Northeastern
Kansas you have to travel several hundred miles in about any direction to get to many halfway enticing locations.
We are still undecided but are sure going someplace regardless what the diesel prices do by June or July.
Good luck, be careful and hope that you have lots of fun.

MusicMan we spent 14 days at Cresent Bar. Last week of June first week of July. We got to know the general area. What a beautiful spot.
We will be going back.

Well, all plans have been canceled. Doctor told me Friday to cancel all plans for this summer. I have been diagnosed with extensive breast cancer so she is wanting to move quickly. Oh well, hopefully next year.

I'm so sorry to hear that, Cookielady.

Here's wishing the very best for you and may you have a speedy recovery. You'll be back on the road before you know it!

Sandi
