We purchased a 07 Cardinal Fifth Wheel last summer. we have had problems with the stereo system which is from what I understand a new type of system. Our delaer replaced the original one with the same kind last summer which is called a Concerto. Went to use it this summer after it having worked fine after replacement last year and now it doesn't work again. Push power button nothing happens. Have cked fuses etc. Was just wondering if any other Cardinal owners who have this system have had any problems. I noticed on the book that came with it it says "Patent Pending" which tells me it is a new type. Unfortunatley when not working, we have no radio, Dvd,Cd & of course no speaker system. Would appreciate any help on this if anyone knows anything about it. Our warranty is almost up and would like to resolve it before it is.

They're Concertone systems and they are real winners... I had ours replaced three time in two years all under warranty. The last one seems to be fine although I haven't checked it this year yet.
Do a search on Concertone and you see all the issues folks have had with these units.

Yep it's PROBABLY a ConcertoNE and lots of people seem to have a lot of trouble with them. I'd get it back and let them give it another try before your warranty runs out.

Thanks I had a feeling their might be an ongoing problem with them. We do have an appointment to get it cked out, but my fear is even if they replace it, good chance of it happeing again and then our warranty will have run out which is in June. Then we have no recourse and it's an expensive system to replace.

We are on our fourth concertone, and thankfully, knock on wood, this one is working. Just had to have our dealer keep replacing them under warranty. Hurry and get it done before your warranty runs out.
Just to update, we installed the newest one the day before our 10 day trip, (6.26.08) it lasted for 1 dvd. When we went to watch the second one, it started freezing up again. They are junk.

I don't know from what part of china they find the junk off brand sound/video equipment the RV manufacturers stick us with but they aren't worth fretting over. Once out of warranty and you want decent equipment replace yours with a name brand quality DVD player and sound system that will last and sound great!

That was my thought also. Just am not sure how compatible another brand would be with all our wiring. It's a nightmare at best. Don't know why they make these systems so complicated! You need to be a electronics wizard just to operate them! What part of Ga are you in? I just came back from visiting my son who lives in Atlanta.

There are alternatives, But they are expensive. Go to Crutchfield.com and do a search. Alpine is one manufacturer that has a head unit that will do it all. Then you just need to add an apmlifer, and a TV tuner and you are ready to go.

Miss Molly, I'm from Buford just NE of Atlanta. I replaced mine with a Sanyo DVD/CD Player and a RCA 5.1 surround system with powered subwoofer. Wiring is totally compatible. Just mark the speaker wires as you remove the old system ie front left, Center, front right and left rear and right rear, subwoofer. Not to hard. The sound difference is phenomenal! I discarded a working no name with a decent system from Radio Shack. Not top of the line of course but works great for a camper for 4 years +.
