Well the pesky neighbor only lasts about 20 minutes with my autistic child. He gets in the middle of everything. If you say train he can tell you everything you ever wanted to know about any train. Same with ships, planes, cars. The Viper is his big talk right now. If that does not work I guess I would just go inside and close the door. Never had to though. Usually kiddo scares them off with his knowledge. He does the whole do you know how much a stealth fighter weighs? Then the, have you been to the Midway? Oh you have, how many people can sleep on the ship? And most adults are done and will walk away.

I wouldn't waste my breath. I'll start pointing one finger towards my right ear and do sign language. If he knows sign language which I don't, that should make him more confused. I would go easy with the middle finger during that sign conversation.

Had this to happen one time. I didn't do anything. It just got under my skin a little. Reading this I've heard a lot. Puke on their shoe, say feeling hurting things, and not care about HER feelings, but what ever you do DON'T KICK THE CAT!!! Makes me want to go hung a tree.

I have a BIL like that. We've all learned not to respond, he eventually goes off to a chair and sleeps.

How do you get a husband with a stroke to listen to you when HE'S the one that wanders over and talks? He's an overly friendly sort of guy and wants to "help", but "help" is the last thing they want.
Example: This week we went out to Lake Ouachita State Park and ended up having the campsite next to people we know well from church. Young couple, 2 babies and a babysitter to help out since mom is pregnant again. We didn't know they were going, and vice versa. We volunteered our bathroom to them because the bathroom was 2 blks. away and for a pregnant lady that's tough. That's not the problem and they appreciated it and took us up on the offer. But just 1 thing DH did was to go over and say something to the effect of "Here, put up these lights so you can have more light." Problem is, they didn't WANT more light - they wanted it dark so the babies would go to sleep. I told him - ASK - don't TELL! I apologized to them...good thing we're friends. But he'd do the same with strangers. Just "wanting to help". He loves camping and wants everyone to have a great camping experience, but doesn't realize he's part of the problem. Can't get him to listen to me - gonna do what he wants. Suggestions?
