I do believe most folks are like me. Old or young. They would like to know where service is available for there gensets. Dixiesales.com shows a shop in my area I was not aware of. My thinking is we are on the first wave of Chinese C'Honda products to come. ARV, Inverter and other products, that will require service in the future. Knowing a shop can call Champion for tech support or parts is a good thing. Dumb me I never thought of that. Thought CS @ Champion was for owners only.

Bought my champion c46540 on 3/11/08 and used only one time b4 the avr went out on second trip. It wouldn't even power a small microwave, power dropped below 100 as soon as plugged in (I tested microwave using battery with inverter and it worked just fine, but needed heater too and the battery was just as a backup 4 pm lights. Are others having the same problem?
Called warranty, the 1st repair place said won't work on anymore, too late to get another so on the weekend I called most repair locations in San Jose, all said they refuse to work on Champion products????
Your experience getting service satisfaction for your new Champion disturbed me. It is not "normal" for this to happen. I have no connection to CPE but am "known" by the techs due to the forum issues.
I took it upon myself to do some follow-up with Champion to possibly find out what happned.
Their records show that someone called with a problem fitting your discription, from your area on the indicated date. If this was you, you were refered to JV Tool for initial service. JV Tool is listed as a SC which is part of the Dixie Supply service network which Champion uses. Unfortunately, JV has dropped out of the Dixie network due to problems with Dixie, not Champion. Thus, you got the negative comments and run around.
Please call Paul Cole, Sr. Service Tech at Champion, at his direct cell phone number 702-439-6944. He is extremely concerned with your experience and wants to make things right. He does not have a return call contact number for you but records show a call from your location, with your problem and date. Identify yourslf with your screen name, he will know who you are.
I believe if you make this call you will find out what good customer service is really all about.

I have no fear, JC, is here.
Who knows, the shadow do, but ol eagle eye can see through the fog.
Hello all. Well, I called the shop today and apparently the coil is bad, said he has ordered but no idea when it will arrive. Thanks for the info on who to call @ Champion. Sorry haven't been following the thread, been dealing with my items on sale on craigslist and all the calls and lookieloose sp.?
nance
Mr. Wizard. I just called Paul @ champion, he said he hasn't heard directly from that shop, had voice mail from him--so it appears no parts even ordered? Paul said will check into it 4 me and call back later 2day with more info. Yea, the 1st tech said he thought it was AVR... Good thing I didn't just have it ordered... AS 4 coil, will let u know when I hear back later 2day.
Well, talked 2 Paul, still unclear as 2 what really is the problem, avr or coil, or more... However, he did assure me that I'd have a generator by this weekend. At least now I can figure out when I can actually go camping again.

Well, on 4/30 I posted that I had left off and was told about a week, so today was a week and gave shop a call, c posts above. I didn't log on the weekend due to other issues so only saw post regarding contacting Paul this am...Niece came home from college Sat, Father-in-law back from Chili later that day. Birthday party for Niece Sunday, and many other issues topped the list of what 2 do since it was weekend. Monday father-in-law left for home--(he stays here as the hub for his vacations) So, today was the followup day 4 me. Sorry
~
"nance459" - good accounting of your time, LOL!
~
Of course now I'm wondering if - "Father-in-Law back from Chili"
means,
the South American country of "Chile" or
was he at Chili's restaurant
or maybe a Chili tasting festival . . . . LOL!
~
In any case, hope he had a good trip or a good meal, LOL!
And . . .Floyd, you will now and forever be: "Lamont".
(As in - Lamont Cranston)

Yep. That is what happens when you cut the message and try to remember the name of the person you are responding to. Of course, my being married to a fine lady named Nancy makes one more inclined to hit those keys.
Sorry. Just trying to help.
