I mean real millionaires, the kind with over a million in investments and cash, not the guy who "owns" a home worth a million.
We all know how quickly that can turn around.

My point being, unless there is a sudden change, RVing as we now know it will soon be for only the wealthy.

I do happen to know a couple or three folks with spendable assets of well over a million.
The strange thing, all of them live the same lifestyle as any blue collar worker.

Have you read the book "The Millionaire Next Door" That's the way most of them live, very average normal lives, never buying new, always used, never paid $100.00 for a pair of shoes, never owned a new car, had an average job entire life. It's pretty interesting.

The few millionaires I do know drive older cars, live in modest homes, have kids going thru college and don't wast money on RVing...which come to think of it is most likely why they ARE millionaires...they don't pour money down the drain!

This includes a recently departed multi-millionaire gentleman who until his demise lived a few blocks from me in a home he owned and raised his kids in for 35 years, from the profits he made from his famous Char Broiled Hamburgers. I used to see him weekly, as he mowed his own yard! And Carl never did understand our obsession with RVing!

I'm related to at least 3 of them. You wouldn't know it. The all have modest houses and drive ordinary cars. All live well, but have always lived considerably below their means.

Incidentally, none are RV'ers.

I have to semi disagree.
Even in down times most "Rich" people have postured themselves to make money in a down market. The money goes somewhere.
From 1976 thru 1996 I was a high end cabinet/ furniture maker/ Finish Carpenter. 1996 to now I supervise the construction of high end custom homes in Malibu, Santa Monica and Beverly Hills areas.
Currently I am building a 15,000 square foot home with a $12,000,000.00 budget. Working in the higher end of custom construction my whole life, I have never had a day off that i did not want, especially due to lack of work.
In down times we may cut back and spend less, the rich take and invest some of that "Liquid" cash and triple it when things turn around. History shows it always does. Bud

My next door neighbor is just like the above mentioned. Same modest ranch style house for the last 39 years. Real nice guy, wish I was worth 1/4 of what he is, then we would really be doing some RV'ing.

Being a corporate pilot I have worked for many millionaires. There are two kinds: The ones that work just as hard as you and I work and the ones who have had it given to them. The ones who work for their money seem not to spend foolishly, while the others spend, spend, spend.
