We are debating a silly issue here. So decided to see how others feel about this, how do you feel about campgrounds/parks/resorts that have combination locks on their bathroom doors? Do you prefer it? Do you feel safer? If it's a park that also has long terms do they get the combination too as I have seen people that will not use their own rigs ever, just the campgrounds, I'm sure they have a reason-more room etc.. but during the debate it came up that they also are not paying for their propane, toilet paper nor having to buy cleaners or clean up after themselves. Not trying to stir a hornets nest just seeing what other Rv'ers have to say.

I like campground restrooms with a lock. It keeps out the general public and tends to keep the area a little cleaner.
As far as "long-terms" go, I also don't have a problem with this since they are also paying for the use of the park and should have full use of the facilities just like everyone else.
I don't see where the idea came from that they aren't paying for propane.

I've never heard of such a thing. Most campgrounds where I have been (state parks or private)require you to be registered to come into the park. I would assume anyone in the park is a camper or a guest. Is this really a problem somewhere?

I like the locks. It keeps unregistered guests out of the facilities. I personally use them when being considerate of others in the trailer. Most of the time the ones with showers have better water pressure and lots of hot water.

I don't think I've EVER felt unsafe while going to the bathroom whether it was behind a tree or in a vault. Sorry but those just aren't the kind of things that I worry about. When in campgrounds or RV Parking lots I don't USE public restrooms because my RV has a very nice one and it has no locks on the door.

That's a silly debate. When I stay long term, sometimes I use the facilities, sometimes not. I still have to have toilet paper in my rig. I still have to buy soap and cleaners. I still have to buy propane.

Every park is different... It's part of the adventure.
We have stayed at ones that locked and ones that didn't lock and it never mattered to me either way. Most often I use the one I brought with me.

Very seldom use the RV parks bathrooms. Thats why I paid all this money for a 5th wheel I know who uses my bathroom. I very seldom use State parks and only if I can't find a RV park, just my opinion. GBY...

I like the locks! I'm not worried about my safety...it's just that I suspect there's a lesser chance of someone of the opposite gender accidentally walking into the ladies' shower/restroom.....
