On our Coleman Sante Fe, the poles are permanently attached and when driving, it still flops around too and ends up on the roof periodically. As it's in my backyard right now, even when the wind picks up, it'll flip up on the roof. So I think it's just one of those things....

like others my bag awning sometimes ends up on top of the trailer.

I suppose if it seems to be a problem you could add a bungee cord around it and hook onto the wheel well.

If that doesn't work maybe a large nail driven through the bag into the side of
the trailer

.............Or maybe not.

I had a bag awning on our old Jayco that had straps that went over the bag and snapped to the side of the camper thus stopping the bouncing around. That was the only one I have ever seen with those straps. Thought they were a very good idea.

Just go ahead and throw it out or take it back and get your money back. Bag awnings are useless junk in my opinion. Geta camp out from carefree of colorado.

Is the Campout the TT type awning for PUPs? If so, I believe they no longer make them.

Nope, that was the Super Sport Model. The Camp Out model is indeed a bag awning, it's just the Cadillac of bag awnings.

They do make TT type awnings, and even powered ones. But they range from $700 to $1200 & up and if you have an air conditioner they are actually heavy enough to put you over the 150 pound weight limit of a PU roof.

We've got a 10C and our first big trip last year had the same issue.
By the time we got to our destination, after traveling the 70mph freeways, the bag was torn.
I took it to our local upholstry shop when we got home and she fixed it up for us.
Now it travels inside the pup.The biggest thing to remember is to attach it back on the side BEFORE we pop the pup.

Flyin' high on caffine and Copenhagen......

Over the years I've come to a realization.
People are a lot like slinky's...not good for much, but it puts a smile on your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.

I have not had a problem with my bag awning flapping around while driving. The one time I did have a problem was during a strong wind storm in GA. It actually tore the front half of the bag off of the trailer. We bungied it to get it home, then took it off and resewed it ourselves (not a hard job, use upholstery needles). We planned to attach velcro to prevent that ever happening again, but just never have gotten around to it.

Never had mine flap around. It is a A&E Trimline with all the poles attached. It stays put even on the interstate at 65 MPH with tractor-trailers passing us like we were sitting still!
