My family will be traveling to Rockford, IL to meet family traveling from North Dakota. I am looking for a nice campground in the area that accepts reservations, kid friendly (5 year old daughter) and clean. Suggestions?

is there some reason for Rockford? I would think the Wisc. Dells would be a better meet up point.

I have not stayed here but it seems to have decent reviews. Fairly close to Rockford.

We've stayed at Lake louise several times and it is a clean friendly park. If it is warm when you go they have a beautiful large pool and hottub. They also have a clean lake for swimming and fishing.

Rock Cut State Park in Loves Park is very nice. There are a few sites that are reservable, but they go quickly on the weekends. The majority of the non-reservable sites are empty on weekdays.

The one disadvantage is the fact that the sites only have electricity, no sewer or water.

Enjoy your trip!

I've also heard Rock Cut SP is very nice, though I've never been there. There's another SP NW of Rockford outside the little town of Lena, called Lake Le-Aqua-Na. It's usually not crowded and there is a man-made 40 acre lake that offers rental boats and canoes, and a small beach. Nothing too fancy, but nice. Good luck!

Not sure when your planning your trip, but Pearl Lake in South Beloit is nice. They have a cool swimming lake and a great restaurant.
