I have heard you can't adjust the power awning up or down. Do you like them or not? Thanks

you cannot adjust them up or down. or tilt to one side. or hang awning lights. or or have de flappers. or use tiedowns. you can however push a button and go "oooooooh".

I really like the our power awning but what the other poster said is mostly correct.

However, that being said, they do self adjust with mild (key word mild) wind and or rain. They will dump rain after they collect it.

As for awning lights, sure you can hang them, not sure why you cannot, we use ours.

One trick we learned was to use a bungie strap to go around around the top support and the gas shock end, this makes them TIGHT so they don't move.

We LOVE ours....but having a manual one is nice too.

Our lights...and our LED down lights under the 5er.

Our Eclipse by Carefree can be adjusted for tilt to let the water run off and it can be used in that position. Also, you can adjust the angle of the awning. I like ours because I wake up in the morning and it is raining I can just hit my button and extend it and step out to a protected patio. I probably wouldn't opt for one as an option, but our rv came with it .

We had one on a 2003. If the temperature went up the awning would just role up. A small amount of wind and it also rolled up. I guess the good thing, if a storm came up just hit a button and don't worry about getting your awning tore up. Our current awning is manual. I'm short and it is very high. I have to stand on a ladder. Its fine in the mountains where we don't have the strong winds. Here on the plains we just don't put it out. Just too much wind.

I had a power awning on last 5ver and really liked it. We were able to put lights on it. It had an "auto-retract" feature based on wind speed, but you could turn that off.

I enjoyed the power feature for, as stated above, when it was raining: awning could be extended from inside.

One key issue though is to make sure your power awning covers the entry door: mine didn't and while it was not a big deal, that first step out in the rain had to be quick.

It must depend on the manufacture if you can adjust the awning or not, we have a power awning by carefree of colorado, when we wintered out west the afternoon sun got very hot at times so I lowered the angle of the awning it was easy only took a few moments

This post really has answered some questions for me - we're considering an automatic awning. One question: How much approximately am I looking at?
Thanks!

We didn't have a choice with ours. That is a standard feature.
We had it out in some pretty stiff winds and it did just fine. Ours does not have the "Auto Retract" feature. That's ok with me beacuse we usually put it up when we leave to go sight seeing or at night anyway. It sure is nice to just push the switch. Time will tell if it hold up or not.
