Hey Scott! How goes it?
The warranty from TS covers it all believe it or not. I just have to drop it off to a TS store for repair if it ever has issues. Gives me a couple of years of coverage.
I got it for home/trailer use. Small enough to transport, but big enough to run most of the house in the event of a power outage.
sbjack - depends on what you want to do with it, and how much you want to spend. What are your plans?

I think I just want to be able to get enough juice to recharge my battery, and maybe to run the water pump after dinner, etc. No AC, and not something I plan on leaving running for long periods of time.
That is the model I have va jay55. I would say from what you want to do with it sbjack, you can go much smaller. I would think you could easily get a 1000 watt model. They run as little as $200 to as much as $700.
I would also look for something that offers 120v AC & 12v DC. That way it allows you to run 12v accessories or charge a battery.
Personally, We purchased a KIPOR Generator Just under a thousand and it work GREAT. electric start and run's everything in the camper, and when traveling it sits in a plastics box which is bolted down to the 4ft by 7ft addition platform we welded on to the rear bumper which also travels very fine, along with the generator it also holds dog cage, outdoor carpet, and some outdoor chairs, nincly, and none of this disturbs the weight issues. Travels fine. Frank It is also camper qiet.

I have owned several over the years. If you can afford it, go with a Honda or a Yamaha inverter/quiet generator. They are undoubtly the best, as well as being the most expensive.
There are some cheaper units on the market, but as the price goes down,so does the quality and long term reliability. At the same time, the noise level goes up.
This is not to say that some of the cheaper units do not have a good reputation, like the Champion and some of the Kipors, but thay are not the same as the Hondas and Yamahas.
For your requirements I would reccommend either a Yamaha or Honda EU1000I or a Honda EU2000I. They are excellent, quiet, lightweight and very fuel efficient. You will never regret spending the extra $
Yes Kipors are not like Honda's and Yahmaha's, there are a little cheaper, My Kipor has been running my 21ss on about 12 or more dry runs and ran all these day's without a hickup, very qiet and smooth, Large gas tank long running time, Great Generator. Frank
JSGlow, What was your experience with the 2000 and the A/C? I've been reading mixed reports and decided to just order one and try getting it to work myself. I ordered a starting capacitor too, thinking I'd have a better chance with that in place.
