I ordered my Roo 23ss today. I plan to do a lot of boon-docking with my new HTT and am planning to get a generator.

Where is the best place to store it while traveling?

You can carry it in your Durango or in the trailer while you are traveling.

By the way, what generator are you planning on getting?

What are you towing with? What size generator do you have in mind?

Some folks have it riding on their TTs bumper, truck bed, roof rack, front hitch cargo carrier, etc.

My EF3000 rides on my truck bed chained and covered with a small round Weber BBQ cover. MY EU2000 rides in my saddle style truck box along with my Weber Q200 grill.

Will gas fumes be a problem?

Fumes should be minimal with a tight gas cap and a little air

it should be able to fit inside your TT...

MY 3000w Kipor travels in the back of the truck where I usually keep it even while at the CG. Actually I hardly ever take of down even when I don't camp. It's lockes up and I got a hard cover on my bed.

I have the same genny from the same place. Be sure and buy the warranty TS offers. They over charged me for it as it was priced wrong in the computer a few months back when I got mine. So be sure to pay the lesser amount, as I recall $39. Also, there is a rebate at Checker, Parts America, & other associated affiliates for $150. See these links...

Nice genny by the way. Runs the radar range and the A/C at the same time with no trouble. Not as quiet as the red&blue team, but not so loud it is not acceptable. I carry mine in the TT.

Brent

Since going to the dual Trojan T125 six-volt battery setup we've not taken our Honda EU3000is with us after the first 3-day weekend when we determined we didn't need a recharge. We weren't especially conservative using the 12v system, but we didn't run all 8 ceiling lights at the same time either. Of course we didn't have use of the AC or microwave during that time.

It fit fine in the back of my Explorer and the Honda gas cap emitted no fumes.

Anything longer than 4 days and we'd probably want the genset for convenience if nothing else. And it's robust enough to power the AC and microwave.

Hey Brent...

That is dirt cheap for a 4000W. Even with a warranty I suspect there may be more to do to get it fixed.

I keep looking at all shapes, sizes and brands. I may not go boondocking anytime soon but as frequently as the power has been lost in my neighborhood I gotta do something.
