Hello

I am trying to get my generator ready for use on my recently purchased used RV. It seems to run decent except the muffler end has rotted away. Today I put a new muffler on it and with the new muffler the unit doen not want to start unless I flip the choke. (I believe it would be in the open position.)Then it eventually will start , It seems to be flooding??Maybe?? I just dont understand why the muffler would cause carb problems???

Thanks to anyone who can help me out..

Hello

Does anyone know where I could download or buy a service manual for this generator? I Have an installation manual, an operators manual, and a parts manual but nothing on servicing the motor.I am tring to find info on the factory settings on the carb. Mainly the altitude adjustment screw, I think it maybe way out of adjustment.

Thanks again

Went on just as it came off. I think this style would be impossible to go on backwards.

Thanks

Hello

Am I correct in thinking that the main jet screwed all the way in or until the spring is compressed would be closed?

Where is the Idle Jet?

Should the screw that is above the governor linkage be touching the linkage? (It is not)

When the unit is running the linkage in slightly moving back and forth as the unit has a very slight fluctuation in RPM?

Thanks again for your time.

Hello

Yes, It starts alot easier and runs about the same. I really think maybe my carb is out of adjustment a little. With the muffler on I am getting about 130V w/air on but when I shut it down it jumps to 150V for a couple of seconds. I have a suggestion from Generator Jim on how to fix the over voltage but I want to make sure the carb. is ok before I correct that.

Thanks again
