UPDATE!!!
They are going to transfer Patsy to UAB Hospital in Birmingham today, if they can find a bed for her. If not today, then tomorrow. They will do surgery on her right leg to repair/replace the bones that were shattered. I will be taking the MH to stay in while we are there.
She is getting stronger by the day and we are pleased with her progress. She does get tired very easily and has almost no strength in her one usable arm. don't know exactly when the surgery will take place yet. Have to meet the DR. in B'ham. Keep praying. It is definitely working.
God bless you all and safe travels.

ANOTHER UPDATE!!!

Thought I would update everyone on the progress to date.
Patsy was transferred on Tuesday evening to UAB Hospital in Birmingham. We saw the surgeon on Wednesday after she had seen the new x-rays. She had encouraging news for us in that amputation was completely off the table. Great news!!She told us that she could pull the leg bones together so that leg will be only about 3/4 inch shorter than the other. She also would fix the left femur which was fixed in Dothan very poorly. So yesterday, Patsy got both legs fixed. She is now in her room and becoming more aware of her surroundings. At least that is what I am told. I haven't seen her yet.
Some of you may wonder why I have not been o se her since her surgery. Well, I had a severe episode of atrial fibrillation on Thursday night. On Friday morning I decided to have it checked out since I was here at the hospital anyway. They admitted me for tests and evaluation. I am now waiting for the DR. to come back to talk to me. So I have been in the hospital on a different floor from Patsy. They are supposed to discharge me today so I will be able to go see her. Episode probably caused by the extreme stress levels of recen weeks.
Please kepp praying for us as I don't know what is going to happen next.

Hey Mark,

That is good news on Patsy's condition but, not so good on yours! I know it must be tough on you dealing with all the uncertainties connected with Patsy's accident. I hope you are alright, Patsy is going to need you to help her recover. Hang in there and let us know if you need us to do anything. Hope we'll see you soon.

P.S. SAMM sends messy kisses also!!!!
