has anyone checked out the champion generator? my daughter has a 5th wheel and she's looking for a generator that will run her a/c...she has been told the champion 3500 would work for her but can't find out what the cost would be...she also wants to know if it's a quiet generator as that is a necessity for her...someone told her it's a few decibles louder than the honda 2000...I find that hard to believe. thanks for your response...

They-re a GREAT way to meet your camping neighbors (...however, you'll not be pleased by their greetings).

In other words, they're noisy and campground unfriendly. Also, doubt that they produce very clean power.

us.

Very good generators for what they are.... I had one.... plenty of power for the ac and more.. I ran my ac at the lake in Arizona from 9pm to 11am straight and when I shut it off the gen was almost out of gas..pretty good I think...well the ac im sure kicked on and off, just thought I would say that before someone tried to correct me...

Anyways Checker auto here has them for 349 with a 150 dollar mail in rebate... I know checker has different names in different parts of the country.. Kragen auto.. Do a search...

There is also a VERY LONG post on the Champion, started by "the professor" and most is all Positive..

As far as being quiet, its not bad.. Your honda is MUCH quieter, whoever said that must be bad of hearing..

The Champion is not as quiet as the inverter style Honda, yamaha, Kipor and that, But I would say it is the next quietest to them style generators....

She dont have or want to spend the cash now, GEt the Champion.... she has the Money spend the 1200 for a Yamaha 2400......

Can't say I don't like the Honda's but this is a great value. Mine has run several hundred hours without a problem.

Just asking:

Have you ever actually listened to a Champion or are you lumping them into one large "not a Honda" category?

True, they are not as quiet as a Honda, but they are by not the noisiest units out there. I've never had a camping neighbor visit me, as you put it, about my generator.

I have both a Honda and a Chinese, both bought for storm/hurricane use -the Honda is clean enough to run my home computer system.I ran the C off the Chinese last week, A/C and charger system -no problem, there have been some post over the years describing a cover -baffle box that makes them quiet. When thinking about it,just spend the extra money and buy a really quiet generator, another good use for that tax rebate check!
