I was thinking of getting down there very soon. Is it always full? How do I reserve electric sites? Thanks.

We survived our trip to "the chip" it was great, had a blast. See the thread in campgrounds..."post your campsite photos..." I posted a few pics. Walked all over the cg so I can give you lots of info.
We stayed at three campgrounds, overnight at Stoney Creek, 7 nights at Lake Chip and overnight at Indian Shores in Woodruff.
Lake Chip is where you want to be to "get away from it all"...the flowage is beautiful. Great campground. Had some issues due to the size of our rig and being newbies and all but it was great.
Sorry I can't join you that weekend in August, trying to decide which family event to attend, kinda want to camp with my mom's family but can't get a site with elec at Ottawa Lakes, found a private nearby with potential. Kinda thinking I should go with my dad to his family gig, he's recovering from his strokes (multiple) and the subsequent surgery last week on his Carotid artery. He's home and doing much better. (yeah, that was nice, Dad having surgery and being up at Lake Chip with NO cell phone, No internet, no contact with the outside world) he said "just call and reverse the charges" and I didn't know what he was talking about.....talk about a reliance on modern technology. He meant a landline....hehehehehe

It seems some IL state parks are charging more than the advertised increase... The popular ones are charging $25, $35 on HOlidays. CHain of Lakes accepts credit card reservations, supposedly you can call the park to get your reservation, but expect an additional $5 reservation fee. So that's $30 a nite, $40 on Holiday Weekends, elec. only! What the heck is BLAGO & Co. doing?????
