Curious what gas mileage everyone gets with just their TV, and then with their fiver attached (asking this specifically in the fifth-wheel forum since fivers are more streamlined than TT's, or at least I think so, and get better gas mileage as a result. but tell me if I'm wrong on that, too!)

thanks!

I would definately think you're going to get better milage with a TT just because they are not as tall and usually not as heavy. There are also a bunch of variations as well so that may not always be the case.

Ok down to mileage. I see that you have a newer truck so you have all the emissions stuff like me. I get a mixed average unloaded of 17ish. That's come up from 15 since new. Best on the highway I've gotten 20. With the fiver which is mostly highway we get about 11-12. We drive about 65 average slowing uphill, 70ish downhill. I drive by the EGT gauge a little more than the speedo. Definately helps. I was getting 10mpg before.

Travel trailers have more wind resistance than a fifth wheel which could reduce mileage. I've never done a test so I can't say for sure though.

We get 17-18 city 22-23 highway not towing and 12-13 towing with a Chevy crew cab dually with a duramax pulling a 39 foot Montana 3400RL.

I have been getting 10.5 with my 02 GMC Duramax/Allison towing a 31 ft Alpenlite. Cruise set at 60-65. Maybe 18-20 empty.
