We lived full in a motorhome 3 yrs. and it had a Spartan Chassis. The motorhome we recently look at and like had a Freightliner XC Raised Rail. Is these a good chassis? Most salemen always say the Spartan is the best. Ofcourse our last motorhome was a diesel but because of fuel price we are also considering B Plus say in the lenght of 29-30 Ft. I'm afraid after owning A Model diesel, I will not be satisfied with one.

I have an XC chassis (400 Cummins)and have been very happy with it. Drives very well and seems to be well made. I think you will be very pleased with the Freightliner.

I'm on my second Freightliner diesel pusher. On the Tiffin we had a choice of the Spartan, Freightliner, and their own. I drove all three and picked the Freightliner based on our preferences. Others may pick differently.

Drive all your possible choices and see what you like. Freightliner construction and support have been very satisfactory. I do ALL my own work.

I've had both and prefer the Spartan, but there's nothing right or wrong with either, just differences. Each will do the job equally well, the Spartan ride is a little smoother than the FL, but it's not a big difference IMNSHO.

We have just purchased a new Damon with the XC raised rail. Drives fine and has a very smooth ride. This is the second Freightliner chassis we have owned - the first on a 36 ft 2000 Itasca Horizon. It drove and handled great. This new 40 ft rig is heavier with heavier rails and suspension. It rides great.
The good thing about Freightliner is they have shops all over the country and can do repairs without having to travel halfway across the country to get something done.

All I can say is that Spartan customer service is outstanding. Any time I had to contact them with a question, they always answered my questions right away. When my MH was new I had wiring harness short on my Allison transmission, Spartan called the local Allison dealer made an appointment for me that day and called me later that afternoon to make sure I was happy with the warranty service and that it was done to my satisfaction. A lot of my friends have Freightliner chassis and they like them just as well. Like engine choice, chassis choice is probably whatever is sitting under that MH you found and fell in love with, it's does not matter which chassis brand.
