We have our living room TV sitting on a square of that same rubber matting we all use in our cupboards. It does not slide around. You also can use a rubber bath mat. Our 23-inch TV also sits behind a lip across the cabinet opening. It isn't going to eject itself out from behind the slide anyway.
We do not have a TV in the bedroom: The cubby hole for the bedroom TV is the cat's feeding station -- up high, where the dogs can't get it.

Our RV manufacturer provided straps. However, when changing out the tube type TV that came with the trailer with a LCD the strap didn't work well. I bought closet pole brackets and put a set in front and another in back of the TV (cabinet is very deep for LCD). I then cut closet rods to fit and wrapped the rods with swimming noodles (had to slice the noodles lengthwise). My TV sets in an entertainment center so the sides were nothing but two pieces of paneling back-to-back. Not sufficient to screw the brackets to. I cut two pieces of oak (1x3xby width of cabinet), stained to match and mounted those on the outside of the cabinet. This gave me something to anchor the brackets to. My wife never even noticed the addition of the boards for several months, even though they were on the outside of the cabinet and in full view.
The flat screen in the bedroom I put on the bed.
I had an older one in the LR entertainment center that fit perfect and was held in place with a strap. While camping over Christmas, this one made a loud popping sound and the next thing I knew smoke was rolling out of it. Never blazed but blackened the wall behind it.
I replaced it with a smaller-lighter one and used slide on cable connectors on it.
You ought to try and balance a smoking, heavy tv and unscrew cable lines and then throw it out a small camper door. GETS REAL EXCITING!
I strap mine face down onto the couch. I just don't like having it attached to a rigid part of the trailer. There's just too much bounce. Kind of like leaving your open cup of coffee sitting in the cup holder vs. holding it while going over a bump. The hard parts of the vehicle just get a lot more shock.
First thing we did was toss the cheap (stock) TV that came with our rig and installed a 32" HD LCD in the living room.
I mounted it on a heavy duty retractable arm that can be pulled out of the TV cabinet opening and turned/tilted for good viewing angles at either the rear recliner chairs, the opposing couch on the L/R slide or even turned far right to permit viewing in the kitchen (Wife is a Mariner fan!)
Due to weight and trailer movement stress, the retractable mounting arm did require some custom bracing using 2x4 and sturdy screw fasteners inside the cabinet.
I was lucky that the 32" LCD body perfectly seated in the cabinet opening with the outer frame extending beyond the cabinet.
Problem was how to hold it in...secure it in place?
Went to GI Joe's and purchased a roll of sturdy rubber strapping with and some black plastic backpack type snaps. Used metal D-rings as strap anchors inside top/bottom on each side in the cabinet and cut the straps to length. (Two straps hold the LCD unit secure across front)
Works great - takes less than a minute to secure for travel and about 10 seconds to release.

I use the pillows off the bed and couches to sandwich between the straps and the televisions. There was too much shifting around with just the straps. The pillows act like a spring and keep things nice and safe.
Ditto on the couch, face down, the base kind of hooks into the crevice between the back and the cushion, do this for both living room 26" lcd and bedroom 15" lcd.
