Can anyone tell me how to get in touch with these lawyers in Montana? If we are to buy a new motorhome, I think i will drove out there and try to get a post office box #. License the toad and motorhome both and even get driver license. Main reason we live in West Virginia and the personal property taxes is to much which a person has to pay each year to get the license. I not sure Montana will issue one. Some states does. If this doesn't work we also have a second choice since we owned a place in Florida.

I googled Bennett Law Firm and came up with this link:
http://www.bennettlawofficepc.com/
But that's just me. I always try to do it the easy way.
Sometimes I wonder, "Why is that frisbee getting bigger?"...and then it hits me!!!!

Bennett can set you up with a MT LLC for around a grand. If you just get a P.O. Box, MT won't issue you a license or tag. You have to be a resident with a street address and registered to vote (jury duty, etc.) unless you are an LLC. MT has become very aware of the games people play and want their share of the money too. I know, because when I moved back to MT (born and raised in western MT) after living in ID, I had to meet all the requirements before I could even get a MT driver's license again.
Bennett can also set you straight on what problems you may have with your real state of residence if you try to get an LLC in MT or any other state.

You'd do a whole lot better with South Dakota. There are several companies that handle this.
Sure, this is your first DWI spot check.

Check with an attorney in the state you live in as well as in MT. You might find yourself in a mess if you don't. Especially if you really do live in WV, work and the MH will be garaged there most of the time.

The sites listed are good and the one's to use. Bennett will give you all the information just call them and discuss. Make sure you read all hte fine print and understand what the laws in your home state.
We recently investigated this when we purchased a replacement motor home. We could have saved some money but, the motor home had to be kept outside our resident state for 6 month, etc, etc. We decided not to do it. Bennett was great and gave us all the information we needed.
No need to drive out to Montana. Also, understand how you will do the required insurance and if your financing the motor home will your loan company allow. Hope you haven't purchased the motor home yet. It complicates the process if you have.
good luck, UNDERSTAND YOUR HOME STATES LAWS FIRST.

I used Bennett Law Firm - they were very nice and helpful. I will say, the Montana LLC thing has really caught on and is quite obvious. I ended up dissolving the MT LLC and registering in my home state. Even my landscaper had made an observation about the Montana plates and taxes. We'd get lots of comments in campgrounds too -- "Tax purposes or are you actually from Montana?" (Is anyone actually from Montana? )
It seemed like a good idea at the time and my accountant and attorney both gave their blessing, but there's a very dark cloud over the LLC deal. I'm glad to be done with it.
Good luck.
