I can maybe help you a little bit. I live in the Ozark foothills and am within 50 miles of Clearwater and Wappapello lakes. I read an article in our local paper a couple of days ago reference the lake levels. Both lakes are extremely full and with no more rain will not be down to summer pool by late July or August. Most of the campgrounds around the lakes are open but some may have limited facilities. We had tremendous flooding a month and a half ago and it will take time for recovery. Both the previously mentioned lakes have campgrounds operated by the Army corps of engineers, I would call them first to check about the campgrounds before leaving home. I hope this helps you some....jwb.

We have reservations at Wappapello for Memorial Day as far as I know they haven't cancelled them yet. We drove by it a few weekends ago and it was very very high!! I checked the website and it looked like most parks around the lake were opened on a limited basis. As for Johnson shut-ins I'm not sure the campground has reopened.

I may be wrong, but I don't think the Johnson Shut-Ins have reopened yet. I think it says on their website that they're still undergoing renovations after the dam broke.

Our boys' scout troop helps out at the Shut-in's. I believe they've opened the park, but not yet for camping.

Does anyone know how Old Greenville Recreation Area is?

I am just curious. I also like to go to the River Road campground below Clearwater Lake dam, is the spillway running pretty fast?

Thanks!

DW said people were campin at River Road when she was out there lookin last weekend we prefer that campground to Piedmont Park Their just getting so hard to get into if you don't want to leave Friday afternoon I don't know reservations are fine but I think that there is nowhere near enough nonreservrable sites at the Corps parks anymore We hope to go to the reenactment at Old Greenville this year
