Hi All.
I have never had a slider on my screen doors ever come off, or come out of the track,in over 40+ years of RV'ing. Buy a new slider, and when you re-screen your screen door, make the slider fit tighter. Most replacement Slider are normally a little bigger, and need to be trimmed down some. You can also re-adjust the botton track, if it fits to lose. You can also add a thin layer of felt, to take up the slack in your track. Simple fixes for simple problems. Good Luck. Happy Camping. I recently saw a post where someone removed the little plastic latch and put in friction catches. Then when you exit, you can just push the screen door open. Magnetic catches were used to hold screen door open against the solid door. If I can find the post, I will put a link here.
TLS5150 the wire is left long enough to allow the slide to open.
Mike nice addition.
Mine does go through the sliding part.
I drilled the hole at an angle ran a bucket pail wire nice and heavy I left the push wire long enough the slide opens with out any problem.
I topped my wire with an Insulin needle cover bright orange it works like a charm.
I used the straight bottom bar of a wire coat hanger, wire cutters, electric drill and the cork out of a wine bottle. Took all of 15 minutes to do. Absolutely love it.

Mike I made mine similar to yours but I bent mine 90 degrees at the handle and came straight up threw the slide stop. I just put a rubber automotive vacuum cap over the end of it so no one would try to grab it to close the door. By bending it 90 degrees it doesn't interfere with the outer door latch.
A side issue regarding the slider coming out - I just replaced the slider and the piece next to it with clear plexiglass (another idea I read on here) adds more light into the camper, more view out of the camper, and is more sturdy and doesn't fall out. This mod along with the removable plexiglass upper and lower pieces over the screen that many people use allow us full visibility even if we are camping in weather that requires the furnace or AC.
In the clear plexiglass just drill a small hole and use two cabinets knobs on either side of a short bolt with the head cutoff and it works great for a handle.
I tried the push handle through the slider once, and still keep it with us, but we don't use it that much. It seems to get in the way, and the little one can find it too easily
