You still don't get it do you. The brochure is crap. The dealer's a lying thief and...It just aint a big enough horse for that carriage.

All I can say is...Wish you a lot of luck, because you will need it with that small of a tow vehicle.
Here the Jeep site says 3.73 axle and 3.7L is 3500# MAXIMUM and read the footnotes;Jeep Liberty Site

One last shot... hemi231, please reconsider. The overwhelming majority of responses to your inquiry said to not tow your 23' TT with your Liberty. Most, if not all of us have some experience with you're truck/trailer set-up (or something very similar) and that's why we all suggested a bigger tow vehicle. We obviously know something about it. Especially the commercial truck drivers that suggested a bigger vehicle. If you won't listen to us Sunday drivers, at least listen to those guys that haul for a living.
Nothing you do to your Liberty will change the facts that you will be overweight, you will be towing above the recommended weight, you will have too short a wheelbase for ideal control and you will be a little underpowered. Regardless, have fun and be safe.

Have you gone thru this STICKY POST at the top of the TOWING forum?
If NOT...you SHOULD.
Sounds like your balance may not be optimal...I'd print this out and TAKE IT to the dealer with you...
Also you need to verify your TONGUE WEIGHT when loaded and compare it to your LOADED trailer weight...ensuring that you have MINIMUM 10% tongue load...12-13% is better though...you may find that you need more to find the stability handle on your setup though...
Also tires...both on TT and TV...ensure you have proper inflation (max on TT would be a good start)...
You are at a WB disadvantage...so you need to ensure that your weights and balance are PERFECT...IMO...
You'll see if you select the Sport the Technical Data shows a 3500lb towing capacity. If you select the Limited the Technical Data shows a 5000lb towing capacity.

I don't see the GCWR for any model of Liberty, but I assume it must be _at least_ curb + max tow + 150lb driver.
I bought a tt shadow cruiser 15 foot that was supposed to be able to be pulled by a Jeep Wrangler 6 cly. We drove it the ocean twice and it was s l o w but doable. We canned that idea and bought a Dodge Ram 1500 V8, small v8 model, four door 4x4 off road. Pretty cool, we tow the trailer without knowing it's back there.
The Liberty is too small to safely tow the trailer any great distance. Pick up an old truck, they are going cheap because of the price of gas.
We are going to us our setup for four or five years then look at a Class C if gas isn't $10.00 a gallon.
Good luck, look at camping close to home and travel slow and when traffic is light.
